Phew! It has been one crazy whirlwind of a week, y’all. Wednesday night was the St. Louis Fashion Fund’s Emerging Designer Competition presented by Brown Shoe Company at Union Station. It was a spectacular event and great local and emerging designers walked away with cash awards to help facilitate their work–the best end to fashion show, in my opinion. Artists getting paid is always a happy ending! ;)
I wore a black sequined dress from Parsimonia with a sweatshirt, pineapple socks, and heels. I had fun trying out a sporty chic look! Myra was my fabulous date. :)
Fashion presentation by Michael Drummond. Always a show-stopper. I love that white drop-crouch romper (?!) underneath the skirt with the pleat and harness details!
Truly Alvarenga won the people’s choice award
Super sharp men’s wear by Paulie Gibson. That blue suit!
Loved these crisp, alien looks by Nasheli Ortiz. The pops of color in the sparse accessories and bright oxfords are so great.
Daniella Kallmeyer had the first collection to hit the runway–she was also the eventual winner of the competition! For me, what stood out as most special were the details. I loved the bags and pleats.
Wai Ming’s collection was so light-hearted and summery! I love the coral, white, and sandy color scheme, floaty fabrics, and flirty silhouettes. I feel like every piece is super wearable for just about every kind of body.
Jessie Liu’s gorgeous rainbow of dresses and separates wowed everyone in my general vicinity. It’s so refreshing to see such a gratuitous, joyful color palette!
I really liked the proportions in Collina Strada’s collection. These sorts of looks are often a bit plain for my taste, but she kept it interesting with harmonious textures and tied waists. You know I love those backpacks! And the adorable dog of course. :)
I adored Remi Canarie’s feminine pieces with sea breezy colors and prints. That dress in the first photo was maybe my favorite of the whole night! We all know how obsessed I’ve been with floaty swing dresses. Add that collar, all-over print, and pleated flowing back and I’m positively smitten.
Oh, Harbison. I always look forward to seeing what he’s up to. Such gorgeous, luxurious colors and rich textures. Harbison makes clothes for some fierce, future, cosmopolitan business lady–at least, that’s my interpretation. Those flowers and jaunty hats! Loooove.
I always feel so lucky to get the chance to attend all these fabulous Fashion Week events and share my favorite bits with you! Thanks to ALIVE Magazine for hooking us bloggers up and giving us the star treatment! xo
