Big Book of Cats: Pamela

November 14, 2013

The Big Book of Cats is a weekly illustration project. In 1998, I was 11 years old and decided to make a 200 page encyclopedia of anthropomorphic cat girls. I’ve made a vow to honor this horrific piece of literature and redraw every cat girl and post a new drawing along with the original for the internet’s amusement. Want to know more? Read my official introduction here and check out all the drawings so far here!

You’re welcome and I’m so so sorry.

Pamela is NOT messing around. She’s like “Here’s the goods, y’all. Bam.”

Let’s all please have a moment of silence for my attempt at spelling “Illinois”… I think? What else could it be?!

I decided that a logical assumption is that Pamela is a dancer. Her dress kind of looks like a leotard-dress-thing you’d wear at a dance recital, right? The uncomfortable pose and heels that look like character shoes remind me of cheesy high school plays. Haha, maybe I’m reaching here.

  • This is just wonderful. I’m so happy you’ve been continuing this. It’s my favorite!! x

  • She totally looks like she could have stepped out of West Side Story :)

    • Michelle

      YES! I love that!

  • Ha! I like the yoga/dancer re-interpretation. :)

  • Gah, these are so great! I love your illustration style.

    • Michelle

Aww, thank you, Jaimie! <3 <3

  • Hahaha, “Here’s the goods y’all!” I literally spit on my computer from laughing at this.

  • Awwww, Pamela’s hair is the actual best!!

  • I am so in love with this series! I used to draw characters from CATS in 1998, so they were anthro feline people as well. If I attempted this idea, I don’t know how different they’d look to be honest, haha!

  • Her hair is so beautiful!

  • I love the tail added in with a different color of pen. “Oops! She was supposed to be a cat, right?”

    • Michelle

Hahaha she doesn’t even have ears, either. I was super lazy that day apparently.

  • This is definitely one of the more wonderful things that I have stumbled across in blog-land.

  • Amazing! I love her hair :D

  • This is the best. I love everything about this series, haha. So good.
