Meet the STL Craft Mafia

July 30, 2014

During our last St. Louis Craft Mafia meeting–my first as an official member!–Michelle of Green Wall Studio stopped by to take some classy mug shots for us and they turned out a-ma-zing. Can you tell the mafia has been obsessed with Orange is the New Black? We met at Mad Art Gallery, which is located in an old police station. We got all up in that vintage jail cell!

We came up with “prison names”… haha, I’m so bad at coming up with witty names! I’ll stick to drawing.

We did some small group shots–these are the illustrator/photographer folks! Left to right, skipping me (obviously):

Just a side-note here that ironically just after blogging about how impressed I’ve been with my cycling skills lately, I got into a bike accident on Friday. :( Haha, figures. I’m a mess. It was totally my fault, but I ended up flying over my handlebars and into the street face-first. Not cute. I’ve been laying low and whimpering and hobbling around ever since. I’m okay–just all scratched up and sore. Still ready for my little roadtrip this weekend and looking forward to partying with my favorites girls even more!

  • These pictures are great, haha! I wanna be in a Craft Mafia now D:

    • It’s great to feel like a part of a group that shares a common interest like that, y’know? They’re a rad bunch!

  • All of the prison names cracked me up. I’m going to have to check out all these links and shops when I have a bit of extra time on my hands. So sorry to hear about your bike accident! What a bummer. Hope it doesn’t discourage you from getting back out there on your wheels! :)

    • It’s an overwhelming list of awesome for sure! It’s amazing seeing the talent hiding right in your own city. :)

I’m definitely going to try and get back on the bike soon, but a hiatus is inevitable I’m afraid. The front wheel and fender got bend up a bit and it needs a trip to the doctor more than I do haha.

  • Poor thing! Bike riding in the city would terrify me… heck it terrifies me driving by bicyclists – haha.

and I LOVE Elizabeth (JustLiv) – she is SUCH the doll!

    • Biking in the city IS scary! I try to stick to the side streets and trails as often as possible. :/

Elizabeth is amazing. She’s incredibly fun to be around and her energy and work ethic are so inspiring to me! She’s truly a grade A bad ass. <3
